Whale watching

Are you ready to embark on a one-of-a-kind exploration?

Whale watching is an exhilarating West Coast marine adventure that will thrill your senses and leave you with a deep appreciation for the enchanting creatures that inhabit our local waters of Sooke.

Departing from the Sooke basin aboard a 12-passenger high-speed Zodiac, you will explore the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Southern Vancouver Island’s dramatic, windswept coastline on our quest to encounter Killer Whales (Orcas), Porpoises, as well as Minke, Gray and Humpback Whales.

But that’s not all; you will also find a variety of smaller marine mammals and sea birds. You will view Harbour Seals, Steller and California Sea Lions, all in their natural environments. Bird enthusiasts are treated to bald eagles in action, hunting and nesting, in addition to many species of other native marine birds.

From the invigorating salt-filled ocean air to the ever-changing seascapes, whale watching tours are sure to become the most memorable part of your visit to beautiful Sooke.
